The best music biographer of our times, Kris Needs was veering towards a book-length cover feature on original fe-punk Marianne Faithfull, for the next edition of our magazine. But a magazine only has so many pages…so we created this special edition – long enough to get to the meat of the muse.

Masterly woven, with a special Cold Lips’ cover collaboration with one of our fave painters, Sam Jackson, we launch this limited edition insight into the woman who’s created 23 albums, and is more than responsible for some of the past eons best songs.

Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Old Street’s Charlie Smith Gallery, this is the next project from us at Cold Lips, an ever-evolving publishing project from London-born writer, artist, performer, Kirsty Allison, with associate editor, the Glaswegian musician, Gil De Ray.  Emerging from Kirsty’s Sylvia Plath Fan Club poetry nights above a strip club in Shoreditch which explored lyrics, Dr John Cooper Clarke calls us “artistic and fabulous”, and Time Out have been kind enough to bestow with honours: “this fashion literary zine proves bookish folk are the coolest folk…”
